The SICB & TCS will return to Washington DC in 2021. We look forward to TCS developing strong symposia for this meeting, and encourage our colleagues to collaborate with our research colleagues from the region in developing groupings of presentations.

CONGRESSO BRASILEIRO SOBRE CRUSTÁCEOS (CBC) THE CRUSTACEAN SOCIETY (TCS) - SUMMER MEETING

We have been following the development of the COVID-19 pandemic worldwide especially in Latin American countries as Brazil. Although the advance in vaccination has been observed, the rate is still slow. Unfortunately, along with the vaccination rate, the emergence of the new SARS-COV-II strains is compelling us to take hard decisions avoiding to put at risk the health of our associates and contributors. The Board of Directors of the Brazilian Carcinology Society (CBC) and the President of The Crustacean Society (TCS) have discussed alternatives to ensure the holding of the XI CBC.TCS, always prioritizing quality, viability, and safety. Together, instead of postponing the event we have decided that the next CBC.TCS meeting will be held online (totally virtual).Although the virtual mode restricts personal interactions, current sanitary conditions led us to choose this as the best alternative. We believe that the online meeting allows an adequate planning without putting the lives of the participants in jeopardy while maintaining the high standards shared by both scientific societies.The Congress will be held from June 6th to 9th, 2022. All speakers of the keynote lectures and for most of the approved symposia have already confirmed their presence.As the meeting will go online a considerable reduction of registration fees was provided in the following links (https://cbc-tcs.com/registration/). The new registration period starts on October, 1st 2021, and those already registered will be contacted to choose between: 1) to cancel the registration, refund the full registration fee, or 2) to remain registered, with refund of the difference value.

2022 Annual Meeting of TCS and SICB

The SICB and TCS will return to Arizona in 2022. The SICB symposia are the center of the conference, and always draws strong forward looking science. We look forward to developing a symposia or two for this conference. Symposium proposal deadline is usually late August. The plenary speakers have brought the house down each year. The location will attract many of our Latin American and southern US region colleagues. Abstract deadlines are Sept 1st, 2021. If you are presenting your crustacean research as an oral talk or poster at SICB (or SICB+) 2022, we encourage you all to sign up for the "Crustacean Society (TCS) Best Student Presentation Program"!
